Cities Save the World
Let's Reinvent Planning!
The ISOCARP2015 congress came at a time of unprecedented global urbanization. Voices from the global level down to the ground - in both the public and private sector - are calling for a ‘planning’ approach to address the complex challenges that this brings. It's therefore an opportune time to open up to the world, work together and learn from each other. Over 600 professionals from 70 countries participated in the congress, which took place in the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany in October 2015. 500 participants took part in the Beyond Big Plans work congress in Seoul Korea in March 2015.
We are now busy working out the congress results together with other partners. The first task is the development of a position paper for the Dutch Ministry of Interior and Kingdom Relations. This will provide crucial feedback for the transnational urban agenda being spearheaded by the Dutch government during its presidency of the European Union in 2016.
